Here’s how you can win chess in 5 moves as white:
1. White pawn to d4, black pawn to f5
So in this checkmating pattern white starts by moving the pawn in front of its queen to d4 square. And in response, black moves the pawn in front of its bishop to f5 square.
2. White bishop to g5, black pawn to h6
Now, white moves its bishop to g5 square, as you can see in the above image. Black, in response, tries to attack the white bishop by moving its pawn in front of its rook to the h6 square.
3. White bishop to h4, black pawn to g5
White moves back its bishop by moving it to the h4 square. In response, black again tries to attack white’s bishop by moving the pawn in front of its knight to the g5 square.
4. White pawn to e4, black captures white bishop on h4
Now, white moves the pawn in front of its king to e4 square and thus occupies the center along with threatening the black’s f5 pawn and also clearing up the path of its queen to checkmate on the next move. In response, black captures the white bishop on h4 square using its pawn on g5, overlooking the threat.
5. White moves the queen to h5 delivering checkmate
White utilizes the opportunity and moves the queen straight to the h5 square and boom! Black get’s checkmated and white wins the game in just 5 moves. Isn’t it interesting?

Here’s how you can win chess in 5 moves as black:
1. White pawn to f4, black pawn to e5
As you can see in the image, white moves the pawn in its front of its bishop to the f4 square. In response, black moves the pawn in front of its king to e5 square.
2. White captures e5 pawn, black moves the pawn to d6
White captures the black pawn on e5 square. In response, black moves the pawn in front of its queen to d6 square.
3. White captures d6 pawn, black captures d6 pawn with a bishop
White captures the d6 black pawn. In response, black captures the d6 white pawn using its bishop as you can see in the above image.
4. White moves knight to f3, black moves the pawn to g5
Now, white moves the knight to f3 square. In response, black moves the pawn in front of its knight to g5 square.
5. White moves the pawn to h3, black moves the bishop to g3 delivering checkmate
Now, white moves the pawn to h3 square. In response, black moves the bishop to g3 square, and boom! Black delivers the checkmate and wins the game.
